Painting - Acrylic on Canvas - Home Sweet Home

Zach has made his name for his fanciful depictions of African stories and traditions in oils in his signature style based on print-making techniques, but he also loves painting scenes from everyday African life in smaller pieces using acrylics. Here he tells us about this piece in acrylic on canvas entitled Home Sweet Home, “Looking at the growth of the city and towns around us, many people don’t have accommodation, so here we’ve got squatter or shanty towns surrounding us. Irrespective of what materials you use to make it, the idea is to have something that you call home, a roof above you, to take care of your family. So wherever you live it’s Home Sweet Home.”
