A beautiful sculpture of a bird sipping nectar from a flower. The bird is carved from salvaged driftwood, in this case iron wood, in some places polished to a silky sheen, in others left as the raw wood in Boniface's signature style.

This is part of his new range which mounts the birds on a wire flower or grass stem, with wire legs and claws holding on in lifelike detail. The sculpture stands on a metal base and is very stable.

Each one-of-a-kind sculpture is inspired by the character of the found wood, Boniface seeing his mission as completing nature's work and revealing the animal form that he sees emerging from the grain of the wood. Often the wood is left raw in part of the finished piece, the natural and polished surfaces making a harmonious whole. All sculptures are fumigated and shipped with a fumigation certificate.
